Royal Mail ramps up Sameday service

Royal Mail has revamped its Sameday business, which offers a range of same-day services throughout Britain. It offers guaranteed collection within an hour.

Unusually, the full service includes not just ad hoc deliveries, but also scheduled same-day services and multi-drop services – all at different price points.

The organisation puts special emphasis on the fact that the service uses 250 dedicated vehicles and drivers; it fleet resources are not shared with the mainstream mail business. There are no subcontractors and no rented vans.

Also significant in the proposition is that fact that the ad hoc service remains a 'non contract' operation, with no minimum traffic volumes. All vehicles are tracked in real time, and electronic proof of delivery is included.
