Modular mail management system from Pitney Bowes

A modular mail management suite for companies despatching significant volumes of mail has been launched in the UK by Pitney Bowes under an agreement with Swiss developer CodX Software. It is based on CodX's PostOffice solution, which has been rebranded Pitney Bowes Mail Distribution Manager.

The package includes both hardware and software, and is aimed at private post and courier businesses, as well as the growing inter-office/ in-house mailroom market.

For delivery service providers, Pitney Bowes says the solution helps to drive efficiency across administrative functions such as order processing, invoicing, employee administration, research, district administration and route planning.

For in-house mail providers, it says the system enables despatches to be handled in an efficient, cost-transparent way.

Underlying it is the concept of registering data for every single shipment. This individual registration forms the basis for optimising billing, shipment tracking, quality control and complaint management.

Pitney Bowes says the development enables the company to offer true end-to-end solutions support to mail carriers throughout Europe.
