Global order visibility from ATMS
![]() Much mileage is made these days of supply-chain software that provides visibility into suppliers' and clients' systems – invaluable for retailers who might be managing product movements through their supply chain. But not all systems extend to offering visibility across the globe. However, UK developer ATMS says it can offer exactly that with its GlobalTrack system, which has taken on added appeal with the launch of two further modules, RemStock (remote warehousing) and RemLab (remote labelling). RemLab links together businesses in the UK and elsewhere via the internet, typically connecting UK businesses with suppliers and logistics providers in the Far East and Eastern Europe. Suppliers have full visibility of production orders and call-off requirements. RemStock is an intelligent mobile application that runs on a wide variety of mobile devices. It typically uses GPRS for communications but can transfer seamlessly to Wi-fi where this exists. Because of this, ATMS says it can be used in any warehousing environment, including warehouses with no communications infrastructure and even those with no power. The company says RemLab has already been ordered by some of its UK customers, and will be rolled out to several dozen overseas manufacturing and logistics companies in the next few months.
