RedPrairie adds smarter stock visibility
![]() If you want to enhance the 'greenness' of your fulfilment activities, an updated product from software house RedPrairie could offer what you need. The latest version of its Enterprise Visibility helps suppliers using multiple warehouses to make automatic sourcing selections that are based on the wider implications of their choice, rather than the narrow question of basic product availability. Other sourcing solutions tend to focus on which warehouse has the most inventory, RedPrairie argues. Its new system additionally considers the geography and transport costs – by implication reducing the green footprint of the operation. Updates to Enterprise Visibility will also allow automatic re-sourcing of shorted orders, meaning the system can now fulfil from alternative locations if the original source becomes unviable. There are other enhancements, too, including more configuration options for product recalls, plus use of serial numbers for component and finished goods tracking, and kit- and component-level inventory sales.
