Business Post aims to find its way with Relay vans
No fewer than 1,500 Citroen Relay vans are being supplied to Business Post over the next three years - all with satellite navigation fitted. Two hundred are already in service. The Relay van is thought to be the only model in its class to have satnav fitted as standard. Business Post is active in the home delivery market, in which deliveries are often made to previously unvisited addresses on a one-off basis, and the company says it is hoping the satnav will help reduce misroutes and wasted miles. The vehicles are being supplied under a rental signed agreement with NVR Fleet UK (Newton Vehicle Rentals), which will provide a number of support services, including a full-time 'implant manager', who will be based at Business Post's head office in Birmingham. The company will also provide ongoing advice and support on matters relating to the new vehicle fleet. Business Post Group chief executive Guy Buswell says the selection of the Relay vans reflects ongoing programme to drive efficiencies and minimise environmental impact across the company.
